Most of the followers from LemonAide Rescue know me from Lemon’s Bucket List. Lemon was a beautiful, little gray kitten that a Good Samaritan found meowing for help in the middle of the road that was brought to my job. He was only about 6 weeks old when he came into my life and when I first laid eyes on him, I knew he was staying with me.
Lemon was limping, had 2 deformed eyes that caused him to have very little sight, and severe heart disease. He had Atrial Septal Defect (bidirectional), Ventricular Septal Defect, an obstruction in the right ventricle, several holes, and Double chamber (in the right ventricle). In short, the world’s worst heart. He was projected to live a very short life, 6 months short.
I decided no matter how much time he had, I was going to make it the most enjoyable 6 months of his life. I made a bucket list for him that included going to the beach, enjoying a Pup-a-chino from Starbucks, seeing Santa, going to the park, thanksgiving feast, running for president, have a birthday party, etc. I wish I could say that I finished the entire list for him and then some, but unfortunately I couldn’t. His disease was too much for him to bear and he was put to sleep on December 29, 2017, completely surrounded by love.
Lemon was the most remarkable kitten I have ever met in my life. He had so much character bundled into one little 2 pound kitten. Lemon was so soulful and filled with life. Anyone who met him fell in love. He was the ultimate definition of “When life gives you lemons you make lemonade”. Which in turn, inspired me to open my own recue group, The LemonAide Rescue.
Ever since then, Lemon had touched so many people's lives, including mine, that I wanted his legacy to live on by saving the "Lemons" of the world.
